2009 EMR Survey
Dear MSEPS members:
The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Task Force obtained excellent information regarding EMR penetration into ophthalmology practices in
Massachusetts
from last year’s EMR Survey, and
this data was presented at the MSEPS EMR Summit in October 2008. To the
best of our knowledge, this level of detail regarding ophthalmology EMR usage is
the most comprehensive ever obtained at the state level. We are using this
information to address the concerns of our membership.
We have updated the EMR Survey based on the
information we obtained last year. We will now be able to obtain
longitudinal data regarding EMR usage among our members. Furthermore, we
have added questions directly addressing user satisfaction, quality of life
issues, and the greatest concerns for ophthalmologists who have not yet
purchased an EMR system. We have also included questions regarding the use
of imaging software, a vital component for any ophthalmology-oriented EMR.
The Survey should take 5 minutes or less to complete.
In order to facilitate our data analysis, we strongly urge you to take the new Survey by clicking on the web-link below. If you do not have internet access, a printed copy of the Survey will be mailed to all MSEPS members shortly (along with the new MSEPS Newsletter), which can be mailed or faxed back to us. Again, your participation is invaluable, whether or not you are currently using an EMR system.

The resulting information will be analyzed and presented to the MSEPS membership later this year. We look forward to your responses.
